Choosing the right high-pressure hose

Selecting the correct high pressure hose is crucial for safe and efficient operations. A perfect match with your high pressure setup is essential to achieve optimal performance. The high pressure hose is a vital link in this chain.

When should you choose a rubber hose or a thermoplastic hose? KOKS is here to assist you in configuring the complete high pressure system — from the pump unit all the way to the nozzle!

When to use a rubber high pressure hose?

Rubber high pressure hoses are highly reliable, especially for transport applications on vehicles or trailers. They offer excellent heat resistance and are often the most cost-effective solution. However, they are heavier than thermoplastic hoses.

Advantages of rubber hoses:

  • Higher temperature resistance up to 100 °C
  • Generally more affordable than thermoplastic hoses
  • Well-suited as transport hoses

Disadvantages of rubber hoses:

  • Heavier than thermoplastic hoses
  • Limited maximum pressure of 1,250 bar

When to use a thermoplastic high pressure hose?

Thermoplastic high pressure hoses are ideal for specialized applications where flexibility and pressures from 900 up to 4,000 bar are required. They are lighter, more abrasion-resistant, and can handle higher pressures than rubber hoses.

Advantages of thermoplastic hoses:

  • Lightweight
  • Greater abrasion resistance
  • Higher maximum pressure up to 4,000 bar
  • Can be manufactured in unlimited lengths
  • Wide range of configuration options
  • High flexibility

 Disadvantages of thermoplastic hoses:

  • Typically lower temperature resistance (up to approx. 70 °C)
  • More expensive than rubber hoses

Conclusion: Choose rubber hoses for transport applications, and thermoplastic hoses for specialized and demanding tasks such as bundle cleaning, tank cleaning, and concrete demolition.

The high pressure hose range at KOKS Group

At KOKS, you will find the same high pressure hose range previously offered by Doornbos, expanded with the premium-quality KOKS hoses. As a member of the Industrial Cleaning Foundation (SIR) and with access to state-of-the-art testing equipment, KOKS guarantees safe and fully certified high pressure hoses.

Parker Polyflex thermoplastic high pressure hoses from 900 to 4,000 bar

KOKS is a proud distributor of Parker Polyflex high pressure hoses, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of thermoplastic hoses and fittings.

Our extensive Parker Polyflex range covers diameters from DN-4 up to DN-25 and working pressures from 900 up to 4,000 bar, meeting the requirements of virtually all applications

KOKS rubber high pressure hoses up to 1,250 bar

The KOKS rubber hoses are lightweight, compact, and reinforced with steel braids for heavy-duty industrial use. They are available in working pressures of 1,000, 1,200, and 1,250 bar and withstand temperatures up to 100 °C. Well above the ISO 1829-2 standard requirement of 70 °C.

These rubber hoses are more affordable than Parker Polyflex thermoplastic hoses and are therefore often chosen by our customers as transport hoses.

Rubber hoses up to 500 bar at 95 °C or sewer hoses needed?

KOKS also supplies hoses from 100 up to 500 bar, suitable for hot water applications up to 95 °C. These hoses are often used in combination with the KOKS Hotblast and various Kärcher high pressure units.

In addition, our range includes a wide selection of sewer hoses for pipe and drain cleaning.

Working safely with high pressure

Safe operation with (ultra) high pressure is essential to prevent damage or serious injury. To work safely with high pressure, three requirements must be met:

  1. Product knowledge
  2. Process knowledge
  3. Personal protective equipment (PPE)

At KOKS Group, we can provide you with both the knowledge and the equipment required to work safely and in compliance with SIR standards.

Product and process knowledge for your own safety!

Working with (ultra) high pressure involves major risks. Knowledge of pressure values and temperature ranges, for example, in combination with the properties of the high-pressure equipment to be used, is crucial to prevent accidents and damage.

It is also important to understand how high-pressure pumps, hoses, couplings and safety systems work together. What procedures apply for safe connection, testing and disconnection? And how can pressure peaks or leaks be quickly identified and resolved?

At the INEDCENTER training institute, you can expand your knowledge of working safely with high pressure under the guidance of experienced instructors. INEDCENTER is also the right place for your SIR certification.

Personal protective equipment from TST Sweden

During high pressure work, the lance and hose are in close proximity to the operator’s body, particularly the side area, which is at risk if the hose disconnects unexpectedly. With the proper PPE from TST Sweden, you can work safely and protect yourself against injuries.

For example, the Scuff Guard extends the service life of your hose by preventing wear from abrasion, cutting, or impact, while the Whip Stop prevents injuries or damage caused by a whipping hose.

In addition to advising on safe system setups, KOKS also supplies these reliable safety accessories to support safe high pressure operations.
